ATEM Microphone Converter, a new audio analog to digital converter, was introduced by Blackmagic Design.

It enables users to add more microphones to ATEM switcher models, including the brand-new ATEM Television Studio HD8.

Customers don't need to configure any complicated settings because it has a MADI connection and only requires a basic BNC connector for connecting.

With an astoundingly low noise floor of -129dBV, a dynamic range of 131 dB(A), low distortion of 0.002%, and consistent tolerances across all channels, the design has incredible quality.

Additionally, an HDMI monitoring output with scrolling waveform displays is included in the design.

The MADI input on ATEM switchers can now be easily expanded so that users can add additional microphones or external audio mixers.

There is no complicated setup needed for the ATEM Microphone Converter, and more units can even be daisy chained for extra sources. It just connects to the ATEM Television Studio MADI port.

Each converter features four analog inputs with 48V phantom power and the ability to choose between a mic and a line.

Amazing audio clarity, a large dynamic range, and very little distortion are all aspects of the design. Even 8 distinct ADCs are used in the design, one for each input, to increase the dynamic range.

An HDMI monitoring output with scrolling audio waveforms is also available.

With space for the analog circuitry needed for high-quality analog-to-digital audio conversion (ADC), the ATEM Microphone Converter has a well-known converter-based design.

It has integrated XLR/TRS input connections that allow connection of either XLR or jack cables.

Also, it has a MADI output for the converted audio and a MADI input for daisy-chaining more ATEM Microphone Converters to accommodate embedding more than 4 audio channels into a single MADI connection.

The four analog inputs are embedded as MADI channels 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the ATEM Microphone Converter's MADI output.

When users require more than 4 audio channels on a single MADI link, they can loop additional converters using the ATEM Microphone Converter's MADI input.

The upstream converter will stack its four channels atop the four channels on the downstream converter if a second converter is linked to the input of another converter.
