Magewell launches new dante-enabled multi-format converter

Pro Convert Audio DX is a multi-format IP audio encoder, decoder, and capture device, according to Magewell. 

The new hardware allows users to effortlessly convert audio between Dante, NDI, and SRT transport protocols while also seamlessly linking analog audio, software, and IP networks. 

It is the company's first product with integrated support for Audinate's Dante audio networking.

Magewell launched new IP audio converter device

With over 3000 Dante-compatible equipment offered by hundreds of manufacturers, Dante has emerged as the de-facto standard for transferring audio across IP networks. 

Pro Convert Audio DX supports unicast and multicast Dante 'flows' (audio streams) for up to eight channels of audio transmission and reception. 

The system can play uncompressed audio using the well-known NDI media-over-IP technology or compressed AAC audio utilizing the low-latency SRT protocol in addition to Dante.

Pro Convert Audio DX provides mixed-technology local and remote production processes that integrate best-of-breed solutions supporting several standards and formats by facilitating conversion between Dante, NDI, and SRT.

Additionally, it can decode IP audio streams in any of these formats and protocols for analog output and 'on-ramp' analog audio into Dante, NDI, or SRT streams for IP networks.

Pro Convert Audio DX may function as an audio capture device when connected through USB to a laptop or desktop computer. 

It offers high dependability, low maintenance needs, assured performance, and the compact size of a dedicated hardware solution. 

Plug-and-play functionality and quick compatibility with well-known video conferencing, streaming, and production tools are also made possible by UAC (USB Audio Class) compatibility.

Users of Pro Convert Audio DX's browser-based interface can route or mix any analog or IP-based input channel to any analog, IP, or UAC output using the flexible virtual audio matrix. 

The Magewell Cloud multi-device administration software enables central configuration and management of several Pro Convert Audio DX equipment.
