X Plans to Launch a New Button Along the Bottom Function Bar
X appears to be close to unveiling a new button along the app's bottom function bar, with its dedicated, immersive video feed easily accessible with a single tap.
Look at this example shared by the app researcher @p4mui:
The update would place a greater emphasis on video content, which, as the platform continues to expand its slate of original video programming, is becoming a more crucial focus for its business strategy in terms of audience retention and ad placement.
However, X has been experimenting with this for quite some time, with an early version of an upgraded bottom function bar found in testing in January of last year.
As you can see, there was no Grok button back then, therefore the lower function options were limited to simply five icons. Now, X has increased that number to six, with this latest edition replacing the "Groups" tab with the video button.
Chances are, this time around, the platform will actually introduce this new table, although it may also be an X Premium exclusive. It means that hardly anyone will get to use it.
Alternatively, it’s another indicator of X’s focus on video, which should be factored into your X content planning.
