Elon Musk, the man behind Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter, is presently preparing to take on YouTube.

According to a recent report, paid users can upload movies to Twitter that are up to two hours long.

The microblogging platform also modified its Twitter Blue page, and only paying users were allowed to advertise the new video file size, which has increased from 2GB to 8GB.

According to a tweet from Musk, "Twitter Blue Verified subscribers can now upload 2-hour videos (8GB)."

Longer videos could now be uploaded from the iOS application as well as the website, which was previously only possible from the web version of the platform.

In addition to these updates, it is important to note that 1080p will continue to be the maximum upload quality.

Remember that Twitter introduced the long video upload capability in December of last year (2022) and that the platform just recently included a new playback speed control for the web version.

One user really believed that the feature was more similar to YouTube and said in Musk's post, "Sweet. When will they be monetizable?

"Long videos are good, and I hope you focus on them as a YouTube alternative. Short videos are not good. Please refrain from copying tik tok, shorts, and reels," said another Twitter user.
