Captions Raised $25 Million to Give Creators Access to AI

Gaurav Misra, the CEO, and co-founder of Captions, continues by demonstrating how the app's translation feature can be used to subtitle the entire video in Hindi.

He shows off the features of the app that can automatically change the audio level, background color, remove specific words, and add transitions through a sequence of taps and toggles.

According to Misra, this demonstration reveals how his business makes it simpler for video artists to connect with a larger audience. 

A $25 million Series B round led by Silicon Valley venture capital company Kleiner Perkins, with participation from Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and SV Angel was also disclosed by the video editing startup on Thursday. 

The startup's valuation now stands at $250 million, and $40 million has been raised to date. 

According to Kleiner Perkins partner Everett Randle, the business has been "bullish" on the video communication market.

Before this, it oversaw investment rounds for the AI video firm Synthesia and the video-recording service Loom.
